Abstract

Sound and image projected installation titled ‘Another time another place’ The piece looks at
our spatial relationship to the present time. The projected work was site specific in a mock
Roman stone building. Iron bars on the door prevented the viewer from entering the space so
that the work was witnessed from looking and hearing into the interior. The image was of a
similar building in Shanghai and the sound was an artificial hum, based on a boiler striking up,
but altered through digital software. The work was promoted through the company: Threshold
studios at www.thresholdstudios.tv They were also the festival organisers.
Links to previous work on interior space from a ‘Dairy Piece’ in the 80’s re-constructed for the
New Contemporises Show at the ICA. Also linked to work at ‘AND Gallery’ and Shanghai in
that it looked at identity and function in buildings and space.
