Abstract
Active Citizenship learning has been seen by schools in the pilot project as a lived experience where young people are provided with opportunities to engage with the community as members of that community and to strengthen it by taking part. In doing so, they develop relevant skills and knowledge and build personal confidence in a variety of ways. Those taking part in the evaluation of the pilot phase of the ‘You and Mii Makes Wii’ project in Lincolnshire have provided a very positive response to the evaluation team about the aims of the programme and the initial impact on those involved. Several schools have explicitly commented on the value of the project to strengthen links between schools and communities and to enable generations to mix and to organise activities together.
