Abstract

The sketchbook is a palimpsest that continues to be important for the participants in the architectural design process. While information technology is vital in the development and execution of modern designs, computer-aided tools cannot readily replace certain functions of the traditional sketchbook. The quality of palimpsest can be found in the sketch, the building, the urban landscape, and the human mind.
