Abstract
Although stress, relaxation and rest are separate concepts there is a high degree of interdependence. Fundamental to all, however, is the influence of psychological stress. Consequnetly, in this chapter emphasis has been placed on developing an awareness of recognising and managing stress, as it is from this foundation that understanding of relaxation and rest can develop.
