Abstract

Response to the 2010 Spending Review
Presents a collection of 23 papers responding to the Coalition's programme of spending cuts and analysing the likely changes and their impact. Looks at the new politics of welfare and covers issues such as fairness, targeting and universalism. Explores the implications for a wide range of specific groups and policies, such as children and young people, disabled people, voluntary and community organisations, faith communities, higher education, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Includes two papers which put forward alternatives and a possible oppositional strategy for social policy.
