Abstract

The article provides a critical evaluation of the Central Provident Fund in Singapore and compares it with the Superannuation Guarantee Scheme in Australia. The author also discusses some major flaws in the Australian model and suggests reasons for allowing members to withdraw their accumulated benefits for use in purchasing homes.
