Abstract
A review of 'How we struggle' which observes that this book aims to answer questions including: How should we think about labour agency in a post-Fordist world? How do people around the world and across workplaces try to improve their life and working conditions? What barriers or supports are there in this struggle due to the nature of work, experience, and local cultures? Finally, what is the nature of agency within these contexts? ‘How We Struggle’ is an excellent presentation of worker struggles across many different contexts both spatially and temporally. While much is difficult to read for those who are empathetic to the difficult situations’ large numbers of workers, waged and unwaged, find themselves in, it is a book that leaves the reader with great hope for continued effective struggle in the future.
