Abstract

In August of 2018, Anna Vysotskaya (NRU Higher School of Economics) approached me about creating a special issue related to the Future Directions in Accounting and Finance Education Conference in Moscow, Russia. I enthusiastically agreed. She then approached conference organizers Roman Buliga, Marina Sidorova and Margarita Melnik at the Financial University under the Government of Russian Federation to host the conference and Berend van der Kolk (VU Amsterdam: Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) to become a co guest editor. They all enthusiastically agreed to the conference and the special issue.

Over the next year, the American Accounting Association (AAA), the Journal (Elsevier), and Financial University under the Government of Russian Federation publicized the special issue call inviting manuscript submissions. The Journal’s guest editors processed all manuscripts for the special issue and a huge thank you goes out to them for this.
Special issues now have a virtual format with articles appearing in multiple volumes as they are accepted. We received a total of 8 submissions with the final number of published manuscripts yet to be determined. Thank you to all of the individuals who submitted manuscripts.
Fifteen individuals, whose names are listed below, reviewed manuscripts for this special issue. I thank these individuals for their service as a member of the Special Issue Reviewer Board.
