Abstract

This is a scientific literature review of much of the current research into the therapeutic benefits and mode of action of baicalin and its associated flavonoids.
Of particular interest for the treatment of demyelinating diseases like MS or peripheral neuropathy, in 2022 Ai et al found that, using a neonatal mouse model, baicalin promotes myelin production and regeneration by activating the PPARγ signal pathway and also confirmed that BA is an effective natural product for the treatment of demyelinating diseases.
Dosing, contraindications and administration in a clinical setting are then considered to conclude the review.
