Abstract

This is an account of the rollercoaster years experienced by the Royal Navy in the two decades following the Second World War. It analyses the pressures of demobilisation, the impact of technology and the rise of the atomic era all set in the backdrop of Britain struggling with de-colonisation and the impact of the Cold War and limited wars.
