Abstract
This chapter describes the high heritability of antisocial personality disorders (APD). Prevalence in quantitative genetic studies in children with strong callous-unemotional traits suggest that psychopathic tendencies are under extremely strong genetic influence. The results of genome-wide association and candidate gene studies are reported in detail. Neurobiological studies evaluating brain structure, electrophysiological aberrations, and generalized neuropsychological studies of individuals with APD compared to controls are also reviewed.
