Abstract

The complexity of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) system is captivated via a static Euclidean complexity space, where information complexity boundaries expand over time and serve as an indicator for system instability. A model-based static and dynamic conceptions of complexity have been introduced. The necessary capabilities were theoretically demonstrated, alongside a set of assumptions concerning the behaviour of industrial system complexity and its functions as a core foundation for the proposed model. First ideas for practical implications for industrial IoT system complexity analysis are deducted and briefly discussed.
