Abstract

Our findings suggest that housing captive corn snakes in larger enclosures is beneficial to their behaviour and welfare. When housed in large enclosures, snakes were more active and spent more time stretched out. In addition, when given the choice between the two sizes of enclosure, snakes exhibited a strong preference for the larger enclosure when active.
