Abstract
This chapter examines the court ceremonial, negotiations and diplomatic manoeuvring which accompanied the marriage of Isabella of England, Henry III's sister, to Emperor Frederick II of Hohenstaufen. It also considers the central role played by Isabella in facilitating Anglo-imperial relations during her time in the Holy Roman Empire.
