Abstract
The evaluation project employed quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. ST3 GPRs were invited to participate in a focus group in order to provide experiential and evaluative data on the use of PDSA cycles, process maps, redesign and Run/SPC charts in practice and the usefulness of an educational intervention teaching these methods for General Practice and as a method to aid quality improvement in their healthcare environment. We aimed to recruit six to eight people for each group. We constructed a questionnaire that would gather demographic data and measure the actual or perceived usefulness of the quality improvement methods that GPRs have used in their healthcare environment; the actual or perceived possibility of using QI and audit methods in situ with other healthcare staff, and the actual or perceived benefits to quality improvement in General Practice.
