Abstract
Studying human development across the life course is a core part of the social work degree and it is important that students take the opportunity to explore and reflect upon current knowledge in this area. This book takes an original approach to introducing students and practitioners to reflective learning and knowledge-based practice, both key aspects of the social worker's role. It includes extracts from seminal and contemporary texts, making it ideal for both undergraduate students and qualified social workers as they undertake post-registration training and learning. The range of extracts includes topical research, theory, academic texts and national strategy and policy documents. These have been carefully selected and set in context with clear guidance in considering their impact upon social work practice.
