Abstract

Under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, businesses that have a certain annual turnover are required to publish a statement confirming the steps that have been taken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in their business and supply chain. This article aims to critically examine the efficacy of this disclosure requirement by considering both its merits and functional limits.
