A short film that has been nominated for an awards at the BUFVC Learning On Screen awards 2018 under the Audiovisual Essay category. The piece was also exhibited at the 2017 Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York.

Worldless is a short film that forms part of a larger installation, based around the abandoned sprawling Japanese theme park Nara Dreamland. Nara Dreamland, after opening its gates in 1961, at the very time Japan was gravitating toward a western sphere of economic influence, finally closed its up shop in 2006 and, since then, has been simply left alone for reclaimation by nature. Wordless, uses contemporary, archive and blended footage to move between the life that was lead and the death that now bears witness to that past life. Worldless uses Nara Dreamland to reflect upon the sense we have of “the” ending, an ending that looks to be on its way, as nature itself is finally reclaimed without witness. Worldless
