Abstract

This contribution explores the connection between sexology, eugenics and endocrinology in Argentina, Italy and Spain, c. 1916-16. It argues that sexologists and eugenicists from Latin countries consolidated distinct circuits of knowledge exchange, which in many respects set them apart from their colleagues in Northern Europe and the US. It demonstrates that from its epicenter in Italy a Latin circuit arose where shared scientific traditions such as Lamarckianism, criminal anthropology and biotypology moved amongst medical communities associated with Latin eugenics.
