Abstract
This short article argues that progressive, inclusive and libertarian pedagogical approaches in art education are needed to combat a contemporary rise in populism and fascistic nostalgia (make "America great again", "leave the EU: take back control". It argues that advocating the teaching of life drawing in art school is a deeply conservative and reactionary position that only exacerbates the aforementioned problems by re-enforcing authoritarian and hierarchical positions.
