Abstract

This was a commissioned fieldwork project to assess not only the origins and the dynamics of the people that inhabited the erstwhile Clan Syndicate labour village at Clan, outside Albert Falls in KwaZulu-Natal, but also carry out a measured architectural exercise in order to assess the extent to which people occupied space, and the types of spaces that they inhabited. This is an in-house commission by SAPPI and thus is not published.
