Abstract

Archaic Consulting was approached by Mr. Robert McCarthy representing Mike Woods, the landowner of Subdivision 14 of the property K26 12453 Kwambonambi, and Alfluorco with reference to compiling a report on the historical and anthropological background to the farms, specifically with regard to. In this report, the intention is to establish the ownership of the parent farm from its first grant as a defined parcel of land under the Colony of Natal, to confirm that it was owned under the British system of land tenure in 1910 at the time of Union, and then also in 1913 when the watershed Native Land Act No 27 of 1913 was promulgated.

The uBhejane Community land Claim was lodged on 18 December 1996, by Mbuyiseni Khoza, the chief of the Bhejane people resident in Reserve 5 near Nseleni. The claim was gazetted on 28 November 2008.
