Abstract

The International Law Association (ILA) Committee on International Law on Sustainable Development adopted at its 2012 Sofia Meeting a series of Guiding Statements on the Judicial Elaboration of Sustainable Development, to supplement the 2002 New Delhi Legal Principles on Sustainable Development. As co-rapporteur of the International Committee and lead author, Duncan French provides an introduction to the Sofia Guiding Statements together with the Committee's report and the Statements themselves.
