Abstract

Combining research from the fields of qualitative spatial reasoning and spatial cognition and linguistics, this paper gives a first insight in the validation of the adequacy of qualitative calculi for moving point objects, in
particular the qualitative trajectory calculus. The focus is on one-dimensional movements of point objects and their verbalization through the prepositions away from, towards, to, from and via.
