Abstract

This article examines a modern adaptation of the Arthurian legend—the recent Starz series Camelot, which originally aired in April 2011 (starring Joseph Fiennes, Eva Green, and Jamie Campbell Bower) and which ran for only one season (ten episodes)—and its connections to medieval sources, including Thomas Malory’s Morte d’Arthur and early Latin chronicles and Welsh texts, and considers the opportunities it provides for students to study the series or specific episodes in relation to Arthurian texts and in relation to the larger fields of Arthuriana and medieval studies.
