Abstract

A performance of 'In that solitude', for violin and piano. ‘In that solitude’ is a composition for violin and piano, consisting of four short movements that engage in a creative way with the notion of the musical fragment as part of a larger research project investigating this subject. In this work, these ideas are explored through the use of certain compositional approaches, sonorities and structures. ‘In that solitude’ forms one piece in a series of three fragmented, intimate chamber works, alongside ‘Be silent’ for solo piano and ‘Be Still’ for marimba and harp.
