Abstract

Aims & objectives
To investigate how ambulance service care can meet the needs of European Union (EU) Accession migrants in Lincolnshire. The study will achieve this through:

1) A scoping review to examine the healthcare experiences of European migrants in Europe;
2) Interviews with patients and ambulance service staff in Lincolnshire of local ambulance services.
3) Consensus on priority issues among key stakeholders through an online Delphi study.
4) Co-designing recommendations for service delivery improvements.

Methods
Phase 1
Scoping review. Emergent themes will inform Phase 2.
Phase 2
Interviews with 20 patients and 20 ambulance service staff. Emergent themes will inform Phase 3.
Phase 3
Online Delphi study with patients, ambulance service staff and service providers to identify priority issues. Followed by a workshop where participants co-design recommendations for service delivery improvements.

Results
• Publications documenting the healthcare experiences of European migrants in Europe.
• Interviews exploring the experiences of patients and staff when EU Accession migrants use ambulance services in Lincolnshire.
• Identifying the priority issues when EU Accession migrants use ambulance service care in Lincolnshire.
• Recommendations for service delivery improvements.

Expected outputs
• Journal article for each phase of the study.
