Abstract
Abstract—In this paper we present a semi-autonomous intelligent kite aerial photography platform (iKAPP). We detail the hardware and software aspects of the system and show how such a platform can be used to provide a portable, low cost, high quality solution to current aerial photography methods. In addition, we show how this system can be used to acquire high quality images which can be tiled together in order to create a high resolution detailed image of a large area. We use the system to acquire images of local sites of interest that have previously been photographed using other techniques and compare and present our results in this paper.
