Abstract

This article explores the church and convent of the Reparadoras in Jerez. The Church is a building designed in the Neo-Mudejar style or Regionalismo Andaluz that developed in the years of the Great Exhibition of Seville, 1929. The building commissioned originally to the known Sevillian architect Aníbal González was designed in the end by Aurelio Gómez Millán. This paper examines previously unknown architectural drawings and plans that show how the project evolved over the years and its relationship to other buildings erected in the city and more widely in Andalusia. In addition, this paper also examined the construction history of the convent from the very well preserved 18th century casa-palacio to the renovations undertaken in the 20th century that introduced modernism in sections of the old palace.
