Abstract

Poly(vinyl alcohol) and co-solvent effects have been extensively studied in the gel state but not in fi lms. It is possible to manipulate the mechanical and swelling properties of the PVA fi lms using co-solvents and annealing for specific purposes, such as urethral catheter coatings and drug delivery systems.
