Abstract

The aim of this project is to digitize, annotate, edit, and publish in full, the diaries and records of the Chinese Republican diplomat, Fu Bingchang (also known as Foo Ping-sheung) 1895-1965. Fu’s records are highly important primary historical documents, because they record his experiences as a leading diplomat under General Chiang Kai-shek’s government during some of China’s most difficult periods, including the Anti-Japanese War, the Second World War, China’s Civil War and Taiwan from 1956-65.
