Abstract
This session draws on key findings from a Department for Education funded pilot programme designed to improve preparation for leaving care for young people living in children’s homes / semi-independent provisions in England. The session shares the processes involved in the programme and its evaluation, along with illustrations of good practice. Participants will be enabled to: develop an understanding of co-production techniques; identify factors which support leaving care practice; evaluate and reflect on these in the light of their own experiences; and consider a range of approaches to improving the experiences of young people preparing to leave residential care.
