Abstract
Strata BLFS SE1 built in Elephant and Castle in South London was designed as a landmark and new type of residential tower block. The article discusses whether the promises have been met. Interview with designers and a discussion with residents create a background for architectural debate between two architectural visions of two authors – one of which is economically-driven, and the other, who is focused on ecological and social principles.
