Abstract
Fabric Magazine is a monthly lifestyle magazine. I was commissioned to produce a single full colour illustration to accompany an article titled ‘Summer foods’.The research question investigated for this piece of work was to create a decorative image with no narrative content with the intention of encouraging readers to indulge themselves in the editorial content. Practically the work sought to undermine the tyranny of computer generated imagery, which tends to be flat and lacking in texture, by introducing substrates and materials which caused the viewer to question the means of production. Fabric magazine has a circulation of 80 000 and is published by Redwood.
