Abstract

Schiff-base condensation of pyridine-2,6-dicarbaldehyde and 2-(2-{(2-aminophenyl)sulfanyl]methyl}benzyl)sulfanyl]aniline led to different helical macrocyclic products depending on the template metal ion; a mono-helical 1 + 1 macrocyclic complex was generated in the presence of AgI and a double-helical 2 + 2 macrocyclic complex was generated in the presence of CdII.
