Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine and understand the phenomenon of male undergraduate gambling from the viewpoint of a male undergraduate gambler in order to formulate hypotheses for future studies. It is hoped that, due to the lack of data currently available, the findings of the study will both encourage and inform future quantitative studies into the area by identifying variables which may be critical to the development of problem gambling in undergraduate males. This then has the potential to facilitate of the development of methods of identification and intervention for at-risk and pathological male student gamblers.
