Abstract
It has been found that by conditioning porphyrin films to NOX, a reproducible and reversible interaction with the gas at room temperature can be obtained. The interaction is measured using the technique of fluorescence quenching, which easily detects 9.4 ppm of NOX. Observed variations in the responses between different films may be due to differences in the conditioning process. Conductivity measurements indicate that a dark interaction takes place, which at elevated temperatures is fast and reversible. © 1993.
