Abstract
I have experience of working as a producer in the commercial film industry, the independent sector and on Arts Council funded projects. For my latest film, I engaged in an agreement with Creative England and the BFI to produce a short fiction film as part of their iShorts programme.
I will explore the working practices involved in this agreement, in order to receive their funding and the ‘Creative England presents….’ title card.
I aim to analyse the workings of the collaboration from the film producer’s perspective. How did the funding system work and what caveats are involved? How did this influence my approach as a producer and how did it differ from other routes to production?
