Abstract
This article explores the construction history of the Convent of San Juan de Dios in Jerez (Spain) from the erection of the first building in the 16th Century to its demolition in the 1960s. The article examines the adaption of a religious institution into an educational establishment and how the spaces were adapted and integrated overtime. The article also examines the lasting impact of the classical language in architecture through the care and conservation of the Renaissance cloister, a section of the building that survived until its demolition in the 20th C.
