Abstract
Ibid, the new book created by UK artist Alec Shepley works as a 'stand alone' work in its own right but also provides a record of his project by the same name, shown at Kuandu Museum of Fine Art, Taipei, 26 December 2014 - 16 February 2015. The installation referenced the idea of previous works and alluded to the artist as nomad, wandering through imaginary ruins and making humble and yet futile attempts to clean them such as the cleaners in 'Leonia' from Italo Calvino's 'Invisible Cities'. The book draws the imagined reader in and invites them on an existential journey – a journey through fictional sites of the fragment such as those witnessed by all city dwellers.
