Abstract

The exhibition comprises an installation of 40 photographic works by Alec Shepley (above right) and Clive McCarthy (above centre), which opened on Saturday 23 March and which has been curated by Professor in Contemporary Art Practice, Steve Dutton (above left), furthers the 'unfinished project' as a means to open up potential spaces for renewed practice.
The idea behind Entropic Union is to try and interpret something that is by definition incomplete, such as waste and building skips, which the pair have photographed in a variety of locations, ranging from close to home, to Copenhagen and Berlin.

The exhibition was also intended to be an interactive event, in which viewers were invited to participate in the creative process. Part of the photographs were available for visitors to write, paint, create graffiti or collages.
