On February 5th 2011, at the Munich Security Conference, British Prime Minister David Cameron delivered a speech in which he struck a damning blow against the future of multiculturalism in the UK. Trailing in the wake of unequivocal claims by Angela Merkel that multiculturalism had "utterly failed" in Germany and swiftly followed by similar declarations from President Sarkozy of France. David Cameron demonstrated political alignment with his fellow European leaders as he roundly denounced state multiculturalism as being a failure.
