Abstract

Just as spoken theatre can lead to the development of desirable altered states of consciousness, opera, as a form of music theatre, should be able to do the same. I want to study the potential of opera for inducing desirable ASC in performers and spectators initially by analysing written material, such as opera reviews, blogs and biographies of opera singers
