Abstract
n the 60th anniversary of the National Health Service (NHS), the final report of the next stage review, High Quality Care for All, puts quality and quality improvement at the centre stage of the NHS.1 As Lord Darzi puts it, ‘The common theme of these new measures for patients is improving quality. It must be the basis of everything we do in the NHS.’
