Abstract

In the course of studying the life of the Revd Francis Blathwayt, a partial handwritten MS by his daughter came to light. This remnant MS contained descriptions of aspects of life in the rural rectories occupied by her father in the early 20th century. A selection of incidents from the MS is discussed and put into religio-social context.
