Abstract

This presentation outlined a final year event management project undertaken by Tourism,
Hospitality and Event Management students at the University of Central Lancashire. Students are tasked with raising money for the charity project ‘Green Gecko’ – set up in 2005 to support street children in Siem Reap, Cambodia - and allows these final year undergraduates to: 1) Learn organization, planning and management skills, 2) Develop communication, problem-solving and decision-making capability, and 3) Enhance team work skills
