Abstract

The purpose of the commission was to undertake historic paint surveys on selected Tecton structures at Dudley Zoological Gardens, to determine if evidence survives of the
original or early decorative schemes. The elements sampled include (where appropriate) - The Entrance Kiosks and Gates, current reception area (formerly the Safari
Restaurant), Bear Ravine Kiosk, Bear Ravine Tecton.
The aim of this research is to identify the original paint scheme colours and finishes used on these historic structures on their completion in the and to produce specifications to
replicate researched colours in modern materials.
